Central Iran / only known from the Terra typica (Dasht-e-Kavir desert).

Types:

Holotype: MMTT 1671, subadult male, Iran National Museum of Natural History.

Terra Typica:

“Descht-i-kevir desert, 40–45 km east of Darja-i-Nimek lake (34°30’ N, 52°40’ E), Iran”.

Subgenus Rhabderemias

Etymology: Named after Steven C. Anderson (b. 1936), American herpetologist, explorer on Iranian lizards.
